Timeshare is a great way to vacation; to lock in your vacation and lock in your annual costs.

It often gets a bad rap because of the way it is marketed and sold.

This is how it should work – no matter who YOU choose to hire.  If it isn’t this way – ask yourself why not.

·        There should be little or no money paid before closing.
·        Money should be held by a licensed title company in escrow.
·        In some states (NC and SC for example) – title work has to be done by an attorney.
·        You should know where the money is and who will do the work and be able to talk to them if you want to.
·        If you are paying a commission – the company should be licensed and you should be able to find that license.
·        If you want to pay a marketing fee to get your week listed on line? – please know that is all it is.

Truthfully, the secondary resale market is struggling.  But that makes it hard enough without you being told things that aren’t true and spending money that you don’t have to and will more than likely NOT help you sell your week anyway.
